1: Drive Traffic – Forum Marketing

One of the oldest forms of traffic driving and yet still one of the best. Participate in a forum. When you participate in a forum that is busy, you have the chance to gain traffic from whatever link you conveniently have in your signature file. Forums were the original style of social networking before the likes of Facebook, My Space and Twitter came to be, but that does not make them obsolete. So get chatting!

2: Drive Traffic – Social Networking

We are well aware that we are in the Social Networking age, so why not use it to your advantage. Set up a link to your blog or webpage on your personal social networking pages. Just be sure to read terms and conditions and adhere to them. The last thing you want to do is be removed, barred or banned from these important social networks. You may even like to get a social networking buddy to assist each other in cross promotions.

3: Drive Traffic – Keyword Optimization

It’s free, it’s effective, its keyword optimization otherwise known as Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Ensure your website or blog is keyword rich so that it is picked up and ranked in Google, Bing and Yahoo searches. Google has an effective tool within its ‘Reporting and Tools’ section which allows you to search keywords and see how many global and local monthly searches are performed on each keyword or key phrase. It also shows the level of competition you have for each keyword. Brilliant tool. A must use.

4: Drive Traffic – Linking

You may have written what you class to be the best blog or webpage in history, however if it does not contain links, it may not be seen. If you cut a post into multiple parts, let’s say three, and you link each part together, you’re setting your page or blog up to be crawled thoroughly by search engines so that the page comes up for extra keywords. This is referred to as deep linking.
